Willier's House

Our Semi-Independent Living Program was named Willier’s House to honor a long standing board member, Irvin Willier. Irvin had the vision for the Ben Calf Robe Society to have an apartment building that could accommodate those youth wanted to complete their studies in a healthy learning environment. The Ben Calf Robe Society has always placed an emphasis on education. We are proud to offer a program for Indigenous youth between the ages of 16 to 24 years that are working towards completing high school and pursuing post-secondary studies.

The SIL Program:

  • Provides a safe, consistent, nurturing, family environment to the youth in-care in a respectfully and culturally appropriate manner.
  • Advocates for the best interests of the youth.
  • Assists the youth in becoming independent while continuing their education.
  • Connects the youth to community resources, recreational activities and cultural activities.
  • The SIL Program consists of one apartment building:
  • The Willier’s House was established in 2012, to provide youth aged 16-24 the opportunity to learn and practice independent living life skills while completing their education and residing in their own suite.
  • The SIL program is named Willier’s House to honor a long standing board member, Irvin Willier. Irvin had the vision for Ben Calf Robe Society to have an apartment building that could accommodate youth wanting to complete their education in a healthy learning environment.
