Job Title: Facilitator – Indigenous Wellness Parenting Program

Program: Early Intervention

Competition Deadline: February 27, 2026 or until suitable candidate found


Purpose

Develop, implement and facilitate programs to enhance traditional parenting and co-ordinate related administrative, cultural and social activities   


Responsibilities and Activities

  • Communicate with clients / customers and associates in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, which may be developed and implemented from time to time and in accordance with funding contracts as required.
  • Conduct client interviews and process intakes.
  • Develop, implement, facilitate and update Indigenous Wellness Parenting Programs and classes.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Co-ordinate cultural and social activities, including food purchase, preparation and cleanup.
  • Maintains program records, files and reports as required.
  • Advocate for client families and provide referrals, follow-up with prospective families.
  • Actively participate in staff development, team meetings and team building activities and maintain good team communication.
  • Continuously search and update knowledge on community resources that would benefit clients and provide referrals accordingly.
  • Assist groups with meal planning and preparation as required.
  • Role model appropriate interaction with children during program activities and follow / role model appropriate kitchen health and safety
  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and teachings.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education and Skill Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in related field (eg. human relations, addictions, child development, psychology, social work, education).
  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check
  • Standard First Aid / CPR
  • Suicide Intervention
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Experience working with children, youth and families
  • Knowledge of child development and the impact of environment and organic factors
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional and timely manner
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with staff, clients and stakeholders
  • Be able to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects while carrying out ongoing responsibilities
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and attention to detail relating to assigned responsibilities
  • Commitment to confidentiality, tact and diplomacy

 

Working Conditions

Work Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and possible evenings and weekends, while adhering to the Ben Calf Robe Society Personnel and Program Policy and Procedure Manual.

 

Remuneration: Negotiable
