As the Foster Care Manager, you will have the capacity and professionalism to work in a high pressure, stressful atmosphere while assisting program staff. Requires good working knowledge of the Child Intervention, Family Enhancement, Permanency Planning, Adoptions, Post-Adoption Support, Foster Care, Childcare Licensing and Family Support for Children with Disabilities programs.
Responsible for ensuring legislation, regulations, policy, and procedures are followed.
· Assess children and youth’s needs
· Process and maintain records of foster parents
· Document child, youth, and foster parent information
· Generate reports
· Monitor and advise on expenditures as per Government guidelines
· Ensure licensing requirements of foster homes are met
· Prepare and administer foster home licensing packages
· Attend monthly foster parent meetings
· Attend home visits and other appointments related to foster families and children
· Acts as liaison between Childcare workers, Child Intervention workers, Family Support for Children with Disabilities workers and Administrative Support Staff
· Understanding of Indigenous governance systems and structures
· A knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture, practices, communities, history and the current environment (Bill C-92)
· Advocate for child, youth and families
Education and Skill Requirements
· Degree or Diploma in a Human Services field
· MUST HAVE CURRENT REGISTRATION with the Alberta College of Social Workers
· MUST HAVE CURRENT EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD
· Clear Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check
· Standard First Aid / CPR
· Valid Class 5 Driver's License
· Experience working with children, youth and foster families
· Knowledge of child development and the impact of environment and organic factors
· Advanced computer skills including databases, Windows, and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
· Excellent keyboarding skills
· Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills
· Critical thinking and assessment skills
· Ability to interact with others in a professional and timely manner
· Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with staff, clients and stakeholders
· Be able to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects while carrying out ongoing responsibilities
· Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and attention to detail relating to assigned responsibilities
· Commitment to confidentiality, tact and diplomacy

Working Conditions
Office Hours 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Rotational On-call, while adhering to the Ben Calf Robe Society Personnel and Program Policy and Procedure Manual.
