            Training will run from 9 AM to 5 PM both days at Ben Calf Robe Society 12046 – 77 Street Edmonton, AB. There is a registration fee of $275.00/person, however we have funding in place for those in need via Living Hope City of Edmonton to ensure the course is accessible to Edmontonians. Please indicate whether you would like your registration fee waived if you are an Edmonton resident.

Specific supports provided include, but are not limited to, meal planning, preparation and clean-up, personal and hygiene training support, and care, transportation, meal planning and preparation. Facility cleaning, maintenance, and laundry.

           Responsibilities and Activities

            Communicate with clients / customers and associates in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.

            Adhere to policies and procedures, which may be developed and implemented from time to time and in accordance with funding contracts as required.

            Conduct client interviews and process intakes.

            Develop, implement, facilitate and update Indigenous Wellness Parenting Programs and classes.

            Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            Co-ordinate cultural and social activities, including food purchase, preparation and cleanup.

            Maintains program records, files and reports as required.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            Advocate for client families and provide referrals, follow-up with prospective families.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            Actively participate in staff development, team meetings and team building activities and maintain good team communication.

            Continuously search and update knowledge on community resources that would benefit clients and provide referrals accordingly.

            Assist groups with meal planning and preparation as required.

Specific supports provided include, but are not limited to, meal planning, preparation and clean-up, personal and hygiene training support, and care, transportation, meal planning and preparation. Facility cleaning, maintenance, and laundry.

Facility cleaning, maintenance, and laundry.

           History
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In collaboration with Edmonton Catholic Schools and the Nechi Institute, Ben Calf Robe School was created in May of 1981. It was a school which would take children who were not functioning well in the regular school system.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In June of 1981 the Ben Calf Robe Society was formed as a support system for the school, providing counseling, cultural awareness teaching and financial assistance. Over the years, Ben Calf Robe Society has gradually assumed a wider role helping children not only from the school but from the community as well.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Society has greatly expanded its scope and range of services by developing services and programs to assist children and families. Together, with our funders, we serve newborns to young adults in a variety of ways.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Purpose
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Ben Calf Robe Society is governed by a policy making Board of Directors whom follows the board bylaws, board membership, board role awareness, does a delegation and review of the Executive Director Duties and is reviewed for effectiveness by the Executive Director. The powers and duties of the Board of Directors are set out in the Societies Act, the Ben Calf Robe Society Bylaws, and policy of the Society. The Board of Directors must follow a Code of Conduct. Board Members need to demonstrate ethical and professional conduct to maintain the confidence of the membership and the public. This commitment includes proper use of authority and appropriate actions in group and individual behavior when acting as Board Members.
           &#xD;

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

             Degree or Diploma in Human Services Field / Social Work / Business Administration

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Clear Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check
